Ur. 1982, licencjat w 2004: Uniwersyteckie Kolegium Kształcenia Nauczycieli Języka Angielskiego; magisterium w 2007: Instytut Historyczny Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego; studiowałem także w Chinach na Beijing Foreign Studies University, Pekin w latach 2005-2006 i na Sichuan International Studies University, Chongqing w latach 2007-2008. W 2010, otrzymałem Master of Research, a w 2013 obroniłem doktorat w European University Institute, Department of History of Civilization z dziedziny historii dwudziestowiecznych Chin.
Wykładałem w 2013-2014 na Uniwersytecie Oksfordzkim (jako Departamental Lecturer); tamteż byłem członkiem (fellow) w Merton College. W 2015 prowadziłem zajęcia dla programu Erasmus w IH UW. Od 2015 do 2017 postdoctoral fellow w Centrum Studów Chińskich na Chińskim Uniwersytecie w Hong Kongu (Centre for China Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong) w ramach projektu badań nad „Antropologią historyczną dwudziestowiecznego społeczeństwa chińskiego” („Historical Anthropology of Chinese Society in the Twentieth Century”). 2017-2018: tamże pracowałem jako wykładowca (lecturer).
